Snap! is a network of high school student photographers from Greater Hartford. For the past 6 weeks we have worked together to present our vision of Hartford through photographs, and we have decided that people are the vitality of Hartford. Through our images, we tried to bring out the vibrancy of Hartford, especially downtown, that gets lost in everyday life and movement. The photographs in the exhibition are from different areas of Hartford and different areas of Connecticut. This exhibition, Stay!, captures our thoughts along with our hopes for Hartford's future. We tried to photograph Hartford from a new perspective. We focused on parts of Hartford that are taken for granted daily. Overall, our work is an expression of Hartford life as we have seen it this summer. The subjects are diverse - graffiti, nature, architecture - and show the aesthetics of the city in the portrayals of each neighborhood. Hopefully residents of Greater Hartford will see as we did that the city is a great place and STAY! |
