Hall Way - Jessica SalmonMy assignment was to capture the everyday life around the community and to focus on my perspective of Hartford. My intention was to focus on people, knowing that downtown is where all the businesses are located. But I wondered where everyone was, and now my perception of downtown Hartford is that it's empty. Where did everyone go?

While I was touring the West End of Hartford, I was very excited to see if there was anything or anyone that would interest me, although the West End was also quite empty. While still in the West End, I took a trip to the Mark Twain House. I knew that Mark Twain was a famous person in Hartford's history. I would think that there would be a lot of people going in and out of the museum interacting, but there was just the one person going up the empty hallway.

Later I did see something downtown that interested me: a barbershop. And I decided to walk in and take pictures. I found an interesting angle of a young man getting his hair cut by a barber.
